An arts festival celebrating the mental health and wellbeing of African and Caribbean communities. With live music from Call Me Unique, dance and spoken word performances, DJs’, an arts and wellbeing market, creative workshops, a pampering zone and family fun.
The StereoHype Festival 2023 was launched at the Midlands Arts Centre on 28 September. The event included live music and spoken word performances from Call Me Unique and guest artists from StereoHype Social. Call Me Unique was also in conversation with Red Earth founder Sandra Griffiths.

The StereoHype Festival all-dayer took place on 14 October at the MAC, the festival included an arts market, information stalls, a pampering zone and six workshops exploring creative wellbeing through music, poetry, dance and drama.
Information stalls included Birmingham Mind, the African Caribbean Community Initiative, Birmingham Solihull Mental Health Foundation Trust, With Nature in Mind and others.
The arts marketplace included greeting cards from SLH, handcrafted goods from Ghana from Akinyi, skin care from SoakinSkin, candles from Sassies Scents, aloe vera products from Forever Living and various gifts and crafts from Green Wood and Anaisart-African
Workshops included dance, drumming, drama, storytelling and yoga, and the pampering zone offered nail treatments, massage and haircuts and face-painting for kids.

StereoHype Social crew, a group of emerging Black Brummie artists who have produced new music, drama, comedy and spoken word performances exploring themes of parenthood.
Call Me Unique - Birmingham singer and songwriter and her band mixed it up with a beautiful blend of Soul, Jazz and R n’ B.
