Artist Development Programme Launches in January 2023

We will be launching our new Artist Development programme in January. The intensive training programme is open to ethnically and culturally diverse artists who want to gain knowledge, experience and skills to deliver arts initiatives and workshops in community and secure mental health settings.

The programme has been funded by The Baring Foundation and will include paid work experience in mental health settings in Birmingham. It will be delivered in person and on-line by artists and mental health practitioners who all have vast experience of working in mental health settings and developing the creativity of people with lived experience of mental health issues.

The programme has been designed based on consultation with individuals and artists with lived experience and with community and statutory organisations who all use the arts to support the wellbeing of communities that they work with.

It will include modules on mental health awareness, how mental health is understood and experienced in culturally and ethnically diverse communities, designing and delivering workshops, evaluation, co-production, reflective practice and much more. We will offer continuous professional support throughout and beyond the programme through one-to-one mentoring and active learning sets.

To register you interest in applying for the programme please email us here. Full details of the programme will be available on the website and through our social media in December.
